My niece Ally. Taken with a Nikon D300, a Reflex Nikkor 500mm f/8, and a 2x teleconverter (handheld!).
Faces come in a wide variety of styles, colours, and furriness but every one of them is a work of art in its own right.

A rabbit on my front lawn... he got used to me being around so wasn't too scared to pose for a quick photo.
See you next week!
P.S. This week has been really hectic here so I’m way behind in my comments to your sites, dear readers. I haven’t forgotten you! I’ll be attempting to catch up on my blog reading over the next few days.

what an interesting post 🙂 Lovely photos, the birds are my favourite.

Thanks! The birds are challenging so very satisfying when I get one. The blue jays are usually quite bold but get spooked when I point my “long” lens at them. My next Recumbent Review will deal with that lens and I’ll be sure to mention my thoughts on why it scares birds off.

I like the fire hydrant. Great photos!

Thanks! The hydrant photo was taken in a gated community on the shore of Lake Erie where they let non-residents walk around. The big payoff are seeing all the gorgeous houses and a wonderful lighthouse.

Mesmerizing! Well done!

Thanks a lot… faces are everywhere and it’s tought getting shots of some of the more timid ones.

Great collection of faces, I really like the fire hydrant and the groundhog.
September 19th, 2011 at 01:10
Thanks…the groundhog was the most difficult because they are usually really shy when it comes to humans. I considered it a coup to get anything even remotely full-face at fairly close range.

I LOVE Bluejays! Many years ago we had one that would alight on my husband’s shoulder. It was very cool!

I am so envious! I spent a whole season to get them to let me take pictures from three feet away! This year’s crop of them have been real chickens and haven’t the guts to come anywhere as close.

I loved the baby!

The black and white photo of Zion? He’s very photogenic and loves the camera. That day I got some wonderful shots of him and his two sisters.
